Growing into Health, Wisdom and Grace with Yoga

According to yoga, it is not necessarily years, but the flexibility of the body and particularly the spine that determines how we age.

Using a gentle and meditative approach to the deep stretching movements of Yoga, combined with deep rhythmic breathing and focused attention, we will learn how to rejuvenate the body and relax and refresh the mind. Yoga can help to counter the wear and tear of daily life by:

  • Energizing the vital structures of spine, brain, glands and organs

  • Firming the skin and muscles of face and body

  • Correcting postural defects, thus helping to decrease shoulder and neck pain

  • Increases vitality and resistance to disease

  • Increased flexibility of joints

  • Improved vision and hearing due to improved brain circulation

  • Improved mental function and concentration

  • Balancing hormones and thus decreasing menopausal symptoms

  • Enjoy a calm, positive mental and emotional state by learning to identify with the timeless inner self

While learning to listen carefully to the body’s needs we can maintain youthful grace and flexibility, build a joyful, positive self image, rediscover our creative spirit and gain in spiritual wisdom and inner fulfillment from the inner and outer practices of yoga.

This course is open to anyone of any age. It is particularly suited to those whose preference or physical needs require a gentle approach to yoga. (Optional postures for anyone with particular physical limitations).
